Weston created the Modulus Tall Column Vase. Weston’s talent for patterns exemplifies the naturally ordered patterns in nature, which while not geometrically precise convey consistency as a field. There is something magical about the method of patterning as it cannot be analyzed into a repeatable formula for achieving an identical result. The consistency emerges from the artist, and each artist has a unique approach to the naturally ordered pattern.
The same hold true for the tall column vase. The Andersen product is made in a small production with many different shapes in the line, each one affecting the kiln firing environment in unpredictable ways. A tall piece will often be not quite uniformly straight in the way that is expected from a conventional production environment. The tall vase interacts with the environment of the kiln as heat moves around forms of un-uniform shapes and sizes. This column vase is not quite straight but it conveys a quality of straightness in the same way that Weston’s non-uniform patterning conveys a sence of consistency. It is natural man-made consistency and straightness in the sense of man as the individual.

The Bronze glaze is made from raw materials using an original glaze design by Weston.
The Bronze Vase which is like a leaning tower, leaning because that is the way the natural forces of nature within the kiln created it.
Because Andersen Design is a small production, the products are rare by the standard measure of mass production.
The Tall Modulus Column Vase is 15 inches tall and like all Andersen products is made from scratch from raw materials mixed with original Andersen recipes into the stoneware bodies and glazes. Made in Maine, USA.
