A comprehensive and collectible line of ceramic birds. Andersen Studio stoneware birds are classily American. Andersen Studio began as an innovator in American Ceramics Art and design in the mid-century. When the Andersens added ceramic birds to their popular line of handcrafted stoneware slip-cast design, the ceramic birds inspired an instant grass roots collectible movement. The stoneware body and ceramic glazes are all original creations by the artists, created in a process that begins with raw materials sourced in the United States of America. Our distinctive ceramic birds make a unique addition for a ceramic home decor collection

Ceramic Doe with Fawn sculpture in natural brown wax resist and soft matte white glaze, 7 inches tall, modeled by Elise Andersen, 1980's. Stoneware Deer figuring is slip-cast and hand finished by American artisans in The Andersens ceramic art studio located on the coast of Maine, since 1952. Andersen ceramic art starts with raw materials which are used to create the Andersen original recipes for slip, glazes and decorating colors to achieve the distinctly Andersen ceramic appeal

A graceful turning of the head draws the eye around the abstracted stoneware form of a Doe cradling its fawn.

Our Stoneware Doe with Fawn Sculpture, sculpted by Elise Andersen, is an abstracted portrait of a Deer as it cradles it’s young. The two animals merge together expressing the natural bond between mother and child. The ceramic deer is hand crafted and decorated by Maine artisans in natural brown ceramic decorating slip and our matte white glaze. The ceramic Doe with Fawn sculpture is six inches long.
