Handcrafted Ceramic Sparrow Sculpture from Andersen Studio's Ceramic Birds Collection

Our Stoneware Sparrow is a simple modern form adorned with patterned wings

The Andersen Studio stoneware sparrow looks upwards and raises its tail high. The simple naturalistic sculptural form is completed in the loose calligraphic brushwork that depicts the feathered wings. The pleasing tones of ceramic brown decorating slip are waxed and dipped in a white matte glaze to create the sandy beige that covers the ceramic sparrow’s breast. The hand painted brushwork elaborating the simplicity of the sculptural form adds up to delightful ceramic bird art, designed and crafted by Andersen Studio of Maine. The ceramic sparrow is three inches long.
