Ceramic Marine Life Sculpture: Stoneware Sea Otter, by Christine Andersen Tupper. This naturally charming stoneware Sea Otter lies on its back and gently paddles its hind legs while holding some food with its front paws. The belly is a long full sensually rounded form that is gracefully balanced by the circularly rounded head adorned with white tuffs of fur and whiskers and the prominent little nose glazed in glossy ebony. The hind legs are perfectly captured in a moment of paddling as though the ceramic otter were restfully floating in the waves.

The Stoneware Sea Otter by Christine Andersen Tupper. This unusual ceramic sea otter is captured in a pose of blissful relaxation as if floating on gently rippling ocean waves. The otter grasps a bit of food with its front paws. The white fur falls downward clinging to the neck, as though the otter had just finished a dive into the sea to capture it’s meal.

The stoneware otter is rendered in Andersen Studio's original ceramic glazes, all created from the raw materials sourced in America. Our otter is brushed with brown ceramic decorating slip, with the head and an occasional tuff of fur dipped in white matte glaze and finished with the ebony glazed feet and nose. Our stoneware sea otter is a classic of ceramic nature art standing 8.5 Inches long
