A comprehensive and collectible line of ceramic birds. Andersen Studio stoneware birds are classily American. Andersen Studio began as an innovator in American Ceramics Art and design in the mid-century. When the Andersens added ceramic birds to their popular line of handcrafted stoneware slip-cast design, the ceramic birds inspired an instant grass roots collectible movement. The stoneware body and ceramic glazes are all original creations by the artists, created in a process that begins with raw materials sourced in the United States of America. Our distinctive ceramic birds make a unique addition for a ceramic home decor collection

The Chickadee - Eternal Harbinger of spring. Slip cast Ceramic Stoneware Bird Sculpture handcrafted with ebony glaze against against soft hues of grey and matte white glaze over our red stoneware body. The Stoneware Ceramic Chickadee figurine is 3@ long.

The Chickadee, one of the most loved Andersen birds, heralds in the season of spring and is a symbol of renewal

>The Andersen Studio Ceramic Chickadee has a simple and fully rounded form, decorated with a technique that makes use of the naturally flowing quality of Andersen Studio’s unique decorating colors. The gently blended gray falls over the chickadees back like a Japanese water color painting. The Chickadees cap, tail and wings are glazed in the Andersen ebony. The breast is a softer gray created by the Andersen’s white matte glaze over their red stoneware body. The chickadee eyes gaze skyward and are balanced by an upraised tail evoking the classical perkiness of the bird kingdom. The Stoneware chickadee sculpture is three inches long.
