A comprehensive and collectible line of ceramic birds. Andersen Studio stoneware birds are classily American. Andersen Studio began as an innovator in American Ceramics Art and design in the mid-century. When the Andersens added ceramic birds to their popular line of handcrafted stoneware slip-cast design, the ceramic birds inspired an instant grass roots collectible movement. The stoneware body and ceramic glazes are all original creations by the artists, created in a process that begins with raw materials sourced in the United States of America. Our distinctive ceramic birds make a unique addition for a ceramic home decor collection

Andersen Studio Stoneware Sawhet Owl Sculpture

A sculptural owl so self-contained, captures the stillness of being.

The Andersen Studio Sawhet owl is a compact stoneware form, rock-like in its nature. Hollowed eyes on an unglazed carved face pierce through the ceramic from the darkness within evoking the owl's archetypical mystery and wisdom.

The ceramic Sawhet Owl is 6 inches tall and comes in several finishes- Natural Brown, Matte White or the soft fluid Andersen Studio decorating gray.

The stoneware sculpture is handcrafted using the ceramic slip cast method. The process begins with raw materials sourced in the United States, which then become the Andersen stoneware body, glazes and decorating colors. Each piece is hand finished and decorated by American artisans.
