Sometimes the brown brush work is clear and sharp, at other times the glaze flows over the lines to produce a subtle atmosphere
The eight Inch ceramic bowl by Andersen Studio is circular in form and three inches deep. The Brown Tree Pattern is uniquely interpreted by each individual artist’s hand. and transformed by the many different variables with occur with each kiln firing. The bowl is brushed with the Andersen Studio brown ceramic decorating slip and then the tree is painted in wax before being glazed in our signature matte white glaze.
Variations occur in temperatures fluctuations resulting from the differences in kiln density in every firing. Each artist also interprets the pattern uniquely, and so, although there is a basic archetypical brown tree pattern, each rendition is unique. The bowls shown here is uniquely identifiable as the brushwork of Brenda Andersen.
