A comprehensive and collectible line of ceramic birds. Andersen Studio stoneware birds are classily American. Andersen Studio began as an innovator in American Ceramics Art and design in the mid-century. When the Andersens added ceramic birds to their popular line of handcrafted stoneware slip-cast design, the ceramic birds inspired an instant grass roots collectible movement. The stoneware body and ceramic glazes are all original creations by the artists, created in a process that begins with raw materials sourced in the United States of America. Our distinctive ceramic birds make a unique addition for a ceramic home decor collection

Ceramic Fledgling Robin Sculpture in sandy brown from Andersen Studios Ceramic Birds Collection

The dark eyes, of our ceramic fledgling robin are glazed in ebony and seem alert to every thing in the environment.

The Andersen Studio Stoneware Fledgling Robin sculpture is a naturalistic interpretation of a living fledgling robin that the Andersen’s found and nursed back to health. The bird stands proudly with a full and rounded chest and cloaked in a robe of dark brown feathers trailing down the slope of the ceramic bird’s back. Gentle tones of brown cover the surface of the stoneware form evoking the random patterns of a moss covered rock. The spontaneously executed brushwork breaths life into this ceramic form. Truly classic nature art from this American ceramic art and design studio on the coast of Maine. The stoneware fledgling robin is 4 inches tall.

The stoneware Fledgling Robin holds its head high above a prominently full and feathered chest. The dark ebony glazed eyes are intense and darting. The uplifted beak completes the impression of pride and alertness in this naturalistic nature art from Andersen Studio of Maine. The red stoneware body of the robin is brushed with the Andersens original brown slip and waxed before being dipped in a soft matte white glaze to create the naturalistic surface quality of the Andersens ceramic art. The stoneware bird stands 4 inches tall. A beautiful addition to your Andersen Studio Ceramic Birds collection.
